We're All In This Together

Read the first chapter of I John.
In verse 3, John tells us that one of the reasons he wrote this letter is so that we would have fellowship. I think we'd all agree that Christian fellowship is different that simply talking to people. We've talked about this at some length over the last few months, so we'll get right to the heart of it...
Is John's goal being accomplished in your life? What role should Christian fellowship play in your day to day life?

  1. I would say it is probably not being accomplished as Christ intended. The body fellowship was intended to be the hands, feet and voice of Christ to each other and to the world. Although I believe us individual members desire in some regard to live this out, we don't really have the right mechanisms to make it happen. Organized Church can become such a ritual and rut that we lose the opportunity to truly meet together house to house as the the early body did regularly. Maybe we've overcomplicated this whole relationship thing with fake formality and really just need to get back to the real deal.
